THOTH
2017/ Composite /180x55x30 cm
Whales …among the rare creatures known to be able to reach the deepest regions of the oceans. To me, they are the wise beings of the seas, and I believe they may have seen Atlantis, the lost civilization said to exist in the depths. For this reason, I created a Great Sage with a single large eye, symbolizing the ability to see everything. After finishing the sculpture, I hung it high above the ground and painted it in that position. As I stood in front of it, observing how it looked, I suddenly noticed something completely different. When I viewed it from the opposite side not from the angle I had intended it revealed the head of a long beaked bird. The beak was even longer than that of an ordinary bird, very distinctive and characteristic. While wondering how I had never noticed this before, I was also trying to remember where I had seen such a bird. Then suddenly the image appeared in my mind... It was Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom, depicted with the body of a man and the head of a long-beaked bird. As I researched this connection more deeply, I came across something even more fascinating. In history, Egypt appears not as the continuation of a dynasty or lineage, but almost as if it emerged suddenly as a fully formed civilization. There seems to be no clear predecessor. Some researchers believe that the founders of Egypt were Atlanteans and that all of their knowledge was brought by Thoth. According to these theories, the Egyptian god Thoth was originally known as the Atlantean THOTH…

AUM (Octopus)
2021/ Composite / 114x108x73 cm
My belief that everything began in water and continues beyond it grows stronger every day. Water is the source of all my abstract sculptures. But what is abstraction? It is something that may not physically exist, yet can still be perceived. While creating this sculpture, I was inspired by the image of an octopus rising from the depths and propelling itself toward the surface. After completing the piece, I noticed something unexpected: its form resembled the Sanskrit symbol AUM (OM). OM is said to be the sound of the Universe the past, the present, the future, and that which exists beyond time. Its three curves symbolize the states of consciousness: sleep, dreaming, and wakefulness. Perhaps we are standing at the threshold of an awakening. Nothing is accidental; every encounter carries meaning. "Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens." Perhaps this sculpture is here to remind us of exactly that: AWAKEN...

LU
2018 / Composite/ 180x135x40cm
All of my sculptures revealed their hidden meanings to me only after I had created them, and every one of them was connected to Atlantis. At first, this sculpture was a fish. Later, because of the colors applied to it, it transformed into a fish carrying light. In my imagination, these fish would rise from the depths of the sea to the surface, gathering sunlight and carrying it back to Atlantis. It was at this stage that I began searching for a name for the piece. It had to be something connected to light. I chose the name LUMEN, the Latin word for “light.” During my research, I came across an article about “The Light People of Anatolia... the Luwians.” Curious, I began reading it, and once again, time seemed to stand still... The article stated that the word Luvi means “Light Person” in the Hittite language. The root LU, meaning “light” or “radiance” in the Luwian language, passed into many other languages and is still used today with meanings related to light. The Luwians were spread across the Aegean coast and into Central Anatolia, and they were said to have first settled in Troy. According to many researchers and academics, they were “the Light People who came from the sea.” They believed that the Luwians had come to Troy from ATLANTIS...

THERA
2016 / Composite / 223x148x62 cm
In 2014, during a visit to Manisa city following an invitation, I had the opportunity to discover composite materials. At a time when I was searching for ways to create large scale works, this unfamiliar material appeared before me and inspired me in a completely new way. In the model workshop of the factory in Manisa, I selected one of the sketches I had drawn years earlier and began carving. During this period, I encountered something that would completely change the course of my life. While watching a documentary about the lost continent of Atlantis, I came face to face with an image that left a profound impact on me. The shape of Santorini (Thera) Island believed by some to be the location of Atlantis and said to have sunk beneath the waters after a massive earthquake and the giant tsunami waves it unleashed in the middle of the Aegean Sea was strikingly similar to the sculpture I had just begun creating. This coincidence gave me the strong feeling that I was creating something connected to Atlantis. The feeling was powerful and impossible to ignore. One night, while continuing my research, I came across an article on my screen. The information I read left me completely astonished. The headline read: “Is the Capital of the Lost Continent Atlantis in Manisa?” This is how Thera, the first sculpture of my Atlantis themed series, came into existence. And with the works that followed, the adventure continued to grow, becoming ever more powerful with each new piece.

LAVA
2016 /Composite /100x55x30 cm
The ancient capital believed to be the heart of Atlantis was lost beneath the colossal waves unleashed by the eruption of the great volcano at the center of Thera, the island now known as Santorini. According to legend, the Atlanteans possessed knowledge and technology far beyond their time. They built vessels capable of navigating the deepest oceans and reaching the stars. And when the day of the great catastrophe arrived, they found a way to overcome not only the darkness of the sea, but also the fury of a world consumed by fire. LAVA is the memory of that final voyage. Its form, as if born from the molten heart of a volcano, symbolizes an Atlantean vessel capable of passing through rivers of fire. Its glowing crimson body embodies wisdom rising from destruction, transformation forged through adversity, and the unwavering will to survive. This is not merely a ship. It is the symbol of a civilization's final and greatest journey defying the flames and venturing into the unknown.
