LU

All of my sculptures revealed their hidden meanings to me only after I had created them, and every one of them was connected to Atlantis. At first, this sculpture was a fish. Later, because of the colors applied to it, it transformed into a fish carrying light. In my imagination, these fish would rise from the depths of the sea to the surface, gathering sunlight and carrying it back to Atlantis. It was at this stage that I began searching for a name for the piece. It had to be something connected to light. I chose the name LUMEN, the Latin word for “light.” During my research, I came across an article about “The Light People of Anatolia... the Luwians.” Curious, I began reading it, and once again, time seemed to stand still... The article stated that the word Luvi means “Light Person” in the Hittite language. The root LU, meaning “light” or “radiance” in the Luwian language, passed into many other languages and is still used today with meanings related to light. The Luwians were spread across the Aegean coast and into Central Anatolia, and they were said to have first settled in Troy. According to many researchers and academics, they were “the Light People who came from the sea.” They believed that the Luwians had come to Troy from ATLANTIS...
